Kauhukakara is the finnish word for ”rascal” or ”enfant terrible” and that word describes perfectly this group’s way of making music. The approach to composing and arranging is childish by forgetting genre limits and going for some unconventional instrumentations. This concept let’s creativity bloom and gives freedom to fulfill one’s musical fantasies.

Kauhukakara’s music has elements from various genres and styles and the tunes often includes childish joyful melodies and funny sounds. Although their compositions are precise there’s always plenty of room for improvisation. Kauhukakara is using various instruments such as voice, cello, acoustic bass guitar, saxophones, piano, prepared piano, analog synthesizers, glockenspiel, various small percussions of any kind, penny whistle, harmonium, harmonica, kemence, mey etc.
