ARTSY POP
It takes great distance and knowledge of what we do as artists to be able to speak about it and be able to sale it well. All I know, is that without the original sensible music of Philip M. (CEOz Prod) and Charles Michaud’s sharp mind (Preference Mastering) I couldn’t be proud today of introducing “Artsy Pop”.
The idea of “Artsy Pop” was brought to us by one of our first radio programmer Jonathan L. He qualified our first album “Not Your Enemy” as being Artsy Pop, so we kept this name and continue to write around its resonance. “Artsy Pop” is a promotional 4 track concept; we hope you enjoy the first couple since they portray my personal views on portions of my life with a twist of passion.
I write and sing about my own issues, my entourage and how I react towards them, or, I wear someone else’s skin that I feel deep compassion for. Thanks to my training and experiences as an actor, I enjoy switching moods, states of mind and sometimes hold a different range. I’ve learnt as much with listening to singers like Beth Gibbons, Tom York, Patti Smith, Alanis Morissette, PJ Harvey etc..... To me, it all depends on the emotion that runs behind it all. I love all kinds of music as long as it makes me travel and lose touch with reality for a few seconds. I’ve always loved listening to English speaking songs although I’m French, but after spending 8 years in California (which I hold like my second home), it is difficult for me to consider writing in my birth language.
I hope you will travel a bit into our rocking popping world.....
Coming up next the actual “Artsy Pop” song, another upbeat tune “What Is Wrong With Me” which should encourage you to move your cute butt!!!
A first music video, quite warm I must say ;-)... is coming up on “Smile on my tears”.
Thanks for stopping by,
Lots of love,
Fannie Brett.
